Hello, everybody, and today we will begin a new series of episodes on brand analysis. And that will be based on personalities. Every now and then I will analyze a personality brand with you and give you feedback. So if you have any personality suggestions you'd like us to cover please email them to me. The email is on the description of the episode. Today I am going to analyze the Elan Musk personal brand. For those who don't know him. He's a visionary, founder of SpaceX is also the CEO and product architect of Tesla.

Let me tell you why Elon, is the king of the anti-marketing world. His only presence, his eclectic, and he's a contrarian. He is a creative, disruptive entrepreneur in the truest sense of the word,  a savvy business leader that uses the Trojan host strategies very well.  For example, the guy that can sweet and shift a market or tweets to save the world. When we think of Elon, we think of a man who is unrelenting. His personal brand image communicates to us that there's nothing we can achieve if we don't put our minds and hearts to it. But how does his aspirational message transcend to us? Because his passion is relentless. He has a goal, even when it looks impossible, he never gives up. Every time he fails, he tries again. And a couple of quotes that I'd like to share with you directly from Elon Musk himself is one of them was when something is important enough, you do it even if the odds are not in your favour. That's a great example, obviously, for anyone in business. Because as we know, in the entrepreneurial world, sometimes the odds are definitely not in our favour. And we do it anyway. And the next one was if you get up in the morning and think the future is going to be better. It is a bright time. Otherwise, it's not. And I love that because starting your day, every day, and especially with what we've gone through in the last 18 months of COVID. And the disruption of the world gets up every morning. That mindset can only set you up for a brighter day ahead. brands in the creators can sometimes inhabit the same identity. And that hasn't been the case with Elon Musk.

It is hard to dissociate space X's brand personality from Elon. Let me tell you what this can be good, at times Not so good. The different series, if you look at the current contemporary story running with Theranos and Elizabeth Holmes, that's where you have a personal brand Lincoln with a corporate brand. It's an absolute disaster. But that has been an alleged fraudulent type of branding exercise. But when we look at the case of Elon, his failures have been actually a good thing in many, many ways. And actually, they've actually, you know, supported his brand personal and business in a way where it's been seen as authentic and very, very trustful, even at times when you know it might have been erratic. His adaptable personality has contributed to all his corporate brands in a way that I would say is unique in our contemporary culture, and of course, his tweets. What can I say about them mixed success, but definitely interesting? Nevertheless. Some of those examples were for instance when he tweeted that he was selling everything and virtually going to be living like a nomad. Of course his partner Grimes was not happy with that. What about the musk attempt, when he tweeted also that the share price of Tesla, Tesla was too high. And that particular day it actually dropped. I mean, I don't know a leader on the planet that would actually do that. But he's got the courage, or what I would say is the big balls to do that, and know that he can basically do that and potentially get away with it. That's what you call powerful personal branding.

So let me give you three branding lessons we can learn from Elon Musk. The first one, learn from others mistakes. Elon said, he got into his own business because he wanted to express something that was locked away when he worked for others. So to create a reputable personal brand, you must be willing to do what you are called to do. Even when others have failed before you I mentioned before be ballsy, have the courage to ever go never give up, especially when you hear it from people that have never created a thing in their own lives. And of course, what we can also learn from Elon is that he's had three marriages to his name. And he's had no problem to walk away from relationships, if that was required a good lesson from a business perspective as well, because sometimes we hold on to lessons way, too, we hold on to relationships, way beyond their due dates. The second lesson is to focus on what matters and think big, must-have launch achievements have been revolutionary. And that made it easy for him to influence people to work with him, definitely a thought leader. Some of his most revolutionary projects, including, of course, PayPal, and SpaceX. But you know, he's been a disrupter in so many different industries, from space telecommunications to automobiles, to solo, and, of course, tunnelling with the boring company. He's also got AI and machine learning with open AI and of course, neuro link in medicine, and military and robotics, a true creative disrupter, that's very, very unique in the contemporary times we live in.

Execute your ideas, well, many people dream of owning the business, but many don't do it because some problems might stand in their way. Elon Musk, one of the wealthiest persons in the world, reminds us to have a compelling vision and how he sells that vision. Yes, his commitment to building his personal and business brand via, Of course, the products is unrelenting. He knows that he needs to get the world on board his vision, his ideas, his purpose, because, without that, there will be no business.

So, specifically, he believes in being possible. quoting him the first step is to establish that something is possible, then probability will occur. One of his other steps persistence, calling him persistence is very important. You should not give up unless you are forced to give up. And number three, Ignore the naysayers. And quoting him directly. We're gonna make it happen. As God is my bloody witness. I'm hell-bent on making it work. You're going to be inspired by this guy. Because it takes real courage to do what he does, even at times when things fail. So to sum up, then we can learn a lot from Elon Musk's personal branding. What I've learned from him is basically to be committed. Don't be shy, be controversial. Embrace contrary terrorism. Make fun of yourself, contribute to your community. And the last one learns Trojan horse strategies and disrupt the future.
